Meet Sam. Well, she's also known as Samantha. She's a friend's dog and I had the best time painting her!

I met Thor last year and I just thought he was the cutest, coolest pup! Just had to paint him! This is the largest pet portrait I've painted - 36"x36", acrylic on canvas.
I haven't posted anything in a while but here is a painting I completed way back in April. I am currently working on several commissioned pet portraits that I hope to post soon!
It's been a busy summer with work, work work! This is the first and only painting I've painted since Spring. It was great to pick up a paintbrush again!
I can't seem to paint anything but dogs lately. This one was really fun! It's a little, 4"x6", painting on paper. I used ballpoint pen, micron pen, carbon paper, watercolor, and black and white gesso. It was a total experiment but I really like how it turned out. Since I like painting dogs so much, I've decided to challenge myself to create 100 dog paintings or drawings. Here's the first one for my 100 Dogs Project. I have no idea how long it will take to complete my challenge, but I am happy with the way it's started.
Here are my most recent dog portraits, commisssioned by their humans. These were a pleasure to paint!
It's taking a while to update my website because I've been busy updating a side venture called sideshow art. It's a website currently featuring myself and several other North Carolina artists. I've started a collection of small, daily paintings that are available for purchase on the sideshow art website. It's been so much fun working in a smaller format than I am accustomed to working with. Here's my most recent work posted there: Hopefully, in another week or so, this website will be up to date. In the meantime, check things out at sideshow art!
Thanks for stopping by! I had a lot of fun painting this dog protrait for my friend Mark. This is Snowflake, his beloved, family dog. Snowflake wandered away from home one day, never to return - as older doggies sometimes do in their final hours. Mark said he likes to imagine Snowflake just walking straight to heaven. That's a lovely way to think of it. Rest in peace, sweet Snowflake.
2015! A fresh start! I am in the process of updating this long-neglected website and will look forward to bringing you new, fresh paintings and fun news. In the meantime .... here's a chicken for you!
